Cape Town Thing was founded by Mark Insley & Nwabisa Janda in early 2018 and has grown from a hobby where their respective love of music, events and business into today’s platform & network. Mark who fell in love with Cape Town after a first visit for the 2010 World Cup, went on to open a business in Cape Town, Ascot Wealth Management and built a network on both the social and business fronts.

Cape Town Thing was a chance to bring these diverse groups of people together at Cape Town venues and events. He was keen to both support up and coming artists but also try to add some business experience so that they could also grow their business and careers. Nwabisa is a born and bred Capetonian and after growing up in Milnerton graduated from the University of Stellenbosch. She was key in connecting Mark with many of the entrepreneurs they have supported over the years.

All of the Cape Town Thing team share a love for Cape Town but also entrepreneurship and after the events turned to personal training and horse racing enterprises it only seemed right to take the network and project online further and the platform and sub-business model evolved. The Instagram page maps our journey.
