Dolce Bakery

Dolce Bakery is a personal favourite located on Lower Main Observatory in Cape Town. Not many know of it but on your first visit, you’re sure to tell the entire world about this true gem. You can smell the aroma of Dolce’s delicious, fresh baked goods as you drive around the area 

The bakery was founded in 2009 by Moshe Soffer and was later taken over by his sons. The friendly owners pride themselves on customer service and desserts that taste absolutely magical. The store infuses New York and French-inspired feel to their desserts making favourites such as bagels and fresh croissants. 

Dolce focuses on serving high-quality, tasty desserts while spreading joy and happy bellies across Cape Town. They offer caramel or Nutella cheesecakes, moist cakes, giant muffins, shortbread, and more. Dolce also has a large selection of meals, smoothies, and hot beverages to choose from.

Honest Chocolate 

Let’s be honest, who doesn’t like a little chocolate, or in Honest Chocolate’s case a whole lot of chocolate. This dainty gem is located on Wale Street in City Centre and it is definitely worth the visit. 

Their attention to detail and emphasis on using traditional baking techniques is what makes their delectable desserts a hit for their customers. Honest Chocolate uses organic ingredients to handcraft their chocolate to the highest quality. 

With their fine selections of all things chocolate from chocolate cakes, chocolate tarts, and truffles. They cater to vegans as most of their desserts are vegan-friendly. They offer an aesthetic-looking outdoor seating area for you to enjoy your divine treats. On the other side of this area is the entrance of their well-known bar, The Gin Bar. Coco Safar

As culinary couture, pastry haven, roastery, and botanical brewery this cafe is nothing short of amazing. Coco Safar is a stunning bakery located in Sea Point that’s known for its rich espresso and delicious pastries.

The journey towards founding Coco Safar began all the way in New York and was later designed in Toronto, Canada. Needless to say, this bakery has now been around for 10 years, consistently giving you the luxurious cafe experience you didn’t know you needed. 

Their French-inspired pastries also borrow baking traditions from New York and Cape Town to create a fine selection of baked goods. Take a bite of their famous croissants, enjoy their fresh range of authentic artisanal breads or dig into their classic sticky buns.

Jason Bakery is a family-owned bakery situated in the heart of Green Point. Jason Lilley aka Captain Bread is one of the best artisan bread bakers in the city and it shows. You can smell it as you pass by and oh boy can you taste it 

All their desserts are baked and sold on the same day, so you’re sure to experience freshness on any occasion. They offer everything from cinnabuns, to milk tart-filled doughnuts, an array of cookies, and their Grandma Bab’s brownies.
